AUBURN, Ala. — Auburn's Thursday night tussle against Kansas State on Sept. 18 now has a kickoff time.
It was announced Thursday that the nationally televised ESPN matchup will begin at 7:30 p.m. ET. It will mark the Tigers' first road trip of the season, following their opener against Arkansas on Aug. 30 and another home game versus San Jose State on Sept. 6. Like Auburn, Kansas State will be coming off an open date the previous Saturday after beginning the season with games against Stephen F. Austin (Aug. 30) and Iowa State (Sept. 6).
The Wildcats went 8-5 last season, capped off with a victory over Michigan in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl. The Tigers finished last season 12-2, capturing the SEC title before falling to Florida State in the BCS championship game 34-31.
The Sept. 18 game is a culmination of a home-and-home series with the Wildcats, who visited Jordan-Hare Stadium in 2007. The last time Auburn played in Manhattan, Kansas, was in 1978. In the season opener for both teams that year, the Tigers knocked off the Wildcats 45-32.
