Editor's note: Auburn has a rich history of sending players to the NFL. With that in mind, beat writer Ryan Black takes a look at each former Tiger that finds himself on an NFL roster (or should be once free agency and training camps shake out). The series will begin with those who have already been in the league for more than one season and conclude with the latest crop of players to land in the NFL, either through the draft or as an undrafted free agent.
Corey Lemonier, San Francisco 49ers
Drafted: Taken in the third round (No. 88 overall) by the 49ers in 2013
Career stats (through one season): Appeared in all 16 regular season games for San Francisco last year; 15 tackles, one sack; one forced fumble; safety
In his rookie season, Lemonier split time withDan Skuta
as they filled in forAldon Smith
during his absence from the team. In addition, Lemonier saw a lot of action on special teams. The 49ers are quite high on Lemonier and it's a good bet he'll see even more snaps this season for one of the favorites to reach the Super Bowl.
