AUBURN, Ala. — Former Auburn offensive lineman Shane Callahan has enrolled at Colorado.
Back in his home state, Callahan took the field with the Buffaloes for the first time on Saturday. In May, Callahan decided to transfer from Auburn in order to be closer to his home in Parker, Colo. He's seeking a waiver from the NCAA to play immediately. If that waiver is granted, he's expected to compete for a starting job, according to the Daily Camera.
"We're going to practice him as he learns everything, just practice him like he's getting ready to play," Colorado coach Mike MacIntyre told the Daily Camera. "Right now, he's having to learn everything, so he's a little bit behind, but hopefully they'll clear him and he'll be ready to play. We'll look forward for the next two or three weeks, until we find out, like he's getting ready to play."
In two seasons with the Tigers, Callahan appeared in only two games. He redshirted in 2012, then spent last season as a reserve, seeing snaps in games against Western Carolina and Florida Atlantic, respectively.
