AUBURN, Ala. — It wasn't hard to find Auburn players on the preseason All-SEC teams picked by the league's coaches.
Released on Thursday, the Tigers had 10 players across the three teams, trailing only SEC West rivals Alabama and LSU, which had 11 each.
Auburn's first-team representatives were all on offense: quarterback Nick Marshall, receiver Sammie Coates and center Reese Dismukes. Tigers on the second-team included tight end C.J. Uzomah, offensive guard Alex Kozan (who will sit out the 2014 season after having back surgery), defensive lineman and Columbus native Gabe Wright and cornerback Jonathon Mincy. Offensive guard Chad Slade, defensive lineman Montravius Adams and Star Robenson Therezie rounded things out for Auburn on the third-team.
Impressive as the 10 selections may be, it did represent a slight dip compared to media days. When media members released their preseason All-SEC teams in July, the Tigers had a conference-best 13 players selected.
