John Franklin III announced on Twitter Wednesday afternoon his plans to transfer to Auburn University for the winter semester.
“The wait is over!” Franklin tweeted. “Ready to start my new journey and soar with the War Eagles on the Plains come January.”
The former Florida State quarterback spent the past year at East Mississippi Community College where he split time with Wyatt Roberts.
Franklin threw for 733 yards with seven touchdowns in nine games, and rushed for 451 yards with nine touchdowns.

The dual-threat quarterback has two years of eligibility left. He redshirted during the 2013 season at FSU, and earned a national title ring when the Seminoles beat Auburn.
He was the team’s backup quarterback in 2014, and played in two games. He was injured during the spring, and decided to transfer when quarterback Everett Golson joined the team.
