Auburn players including John Franklin III, Javaris Davis report jaw dropping 40-yard dash times
Auburn teammates John Franklin III and Kerryon Johnson went at it on Twitter Wednesday over who was the fastest player on the team.
Both supported their own candidacy to the throne, but neither player was right.
According to Auburn offensive lineman Deon Mix, defensive back Javaris Davis ran the fastest 40-yard dash time during a testing session Thursday. Davis ran a laser timed. 4.18 seconds in the drill. Davis earned bragging rights with his standout performance, but it wasn’t the only standout time recorded.
Mix said safety Rudy Ford ran a 4.20 while Franklin, defensive back Carlton Davis and defensive back Jamel Dean all ran 4.28.
Auburn wide receiver Ryan Davis said everyone from his position group ran below a 4.4.
