Coming off of a breakout season in Athens, Carver product Jarvis Jones will headline Georgia’s contingent at SEC Media Days on July 19 at the Wynfrey Hotel in Hoover, Ala.
Jones, a first-team All-American in 2011 after leading the SEC with 13.5 sacks as an outside linebacker in the Bulldogs’ 3-4 defense, will be joined by a pair of seniors in wide receiver Tavarres King and defensive end Abry Jones.
Georgia’s late-afternoon appearance on Thursday, the final day of SEC Media Days, will cap a wild three days made a little wilder by the addition of Missouri and Texas A&M to the conference, raising the number of teams to 14. SEC Media Days will be held from July 17-19 at the Wynfrey Hotel in the conference's annual showcase to kick off the season.
On Thursday morning, Alabama will make its SEC Media Days appearance with a trio of seniors, including popular center Barrett Jones, the reigning Outland Trophy winner who is making the move inside after playing left tackle in his first three years with the Crimson Tide.
Defensive end Damion Square and tight end Michael Williams will join Jones in Hoover, although quarterback A.J. McCarron was conspicuously absent from the list.
On the day before, Auburn will finish off the longest day of the three – six teams are scheduled for Wednesday – at the same time as LSU, and the Tigers are bringing a couple of familiar faces to Hoover.
Both wide receiver Emory Blake and Philip Lutzenkirchen will be making their second straight appearances at SEC Media Days, and the pair of pass-catchers will be joined by defensive end Corey Lemonier, who is coming off of a breakout season that produced 13.5 sacks and All-SEC recognition.
