TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama running back Dee Hart was arrested Sunday by the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office, according to a Tuscaloosa News report.
While he is still listed on the online roster, UA’s athletic department released a statement saying Hart hasn’t been apart of the program since the Sugar Bowl in January.
“Dee Hart has not been a part of the football team since the bowl game and has not participated in any of the offseason program,” the statement said. “Hopefully he will learn from this mistake and continue to work toward completing his degree, which he is on track to do by the summer.”
The report states that Hart was booked for giving false information and marijuana possession. Both charges are misdemeanors. He was released on a $1,300 bond.
Hart was apart of Alabama’s 2011 class. He was one of the nation’s top running backs, but never cracked the Tide’s depth chart in large part due to injuries.
Hart suffered two torn ACLs throughout his career with the first coming before his freshman year.
Hart spent much of his time on the field playing special teams and carrying the ball in mop up duty.
