A former Georgia offensive lineman is returning to his alma mater in a support staff role.
Early Friday afternoon, Fernando Velasco announced on his Twitter account that he has joined the Georgia coaching staff as a player relations coordinator. He posted a photo with head coach Kirby Smart to commemorate the moment.

Velasco started two years at center for Georgia and was a member of the program from 2003-07.
Following his graduation, Velasco spent eight years in the NFL with the Tennessee Titans, Pittsburgh Steelers, Carolina Panthers and Buffalo Bills. Velasco was a part of the Panthers' 2015 Super Bowl-appearing team.
