ATHENS, Ga. - New Georgia assistant coach Tracy Rocker has agreed to a contract worth $300,000 annually, while new assistant Kevin Sherrer will earn $200,000 annually.
That's according to memorandums of understanding released by UGA on Friday, per an open records request.
Both Rocker and Sherrer agreed to one-year contracts, as is standard for most assistant coaches. New defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt signed a three-year contract upon his hiring earlier this month, and offensive coordinator Mike Bobo also has a three-year deal.
Pruitt is earning the same salary ($800,000) as previous defensive coordinator Todd Grantham did in 2013. The former defensive coaches were Kirk Olivadotti ($280,000), Chris Wilson ($250,000) and Scott Lakatos ($235,000).
Never miss a local story.
Wilson coached the defensive line, so Rocker will be earning $50,000 more than his predecessor.
Rocker will coach the defensive line. Sherrer's duties have yet to be announced, and depend upon the hiring of the final assistant. Mike Eleker, who was the linebackers coach at Southern California this past season, was set to interview on Friday morning with head coach Mark Richt. But a source said it wasn't a done deal with Eleker, and other candidates were still involved.
