The Georgia football team has a pretty good track record with highly-rated offensive recruits from out of state. Now the Bulldogs are reaching into the Big Easy, hoping to have plucked another future offensive star.
Receiver Michael Chigbu of New Orleans committed to Georgia on Thursday night, announcing his decision via Twitter. Chigbu, listed at 6-foot-2 and 211 pounds, is a consensus four-star prospect.
Texas A&M was considered the top competition for Chigbu, who also had offers from Auburn, Clemson, Notre Dame and others.
Some of Georgia's best recent offensive players have been from outside Georgia: Tailbacks Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall (North Carolina), receiver A.J. Green (South Carolina), quarterback Aaron Murray (Florida), quarterback Matt Stafford (Texas) and tailback Knowshon Moreno (New Jersey).
A member of Georgia's recruiting staff posted a tweet on Thursday night that was easy to decipher:

Overall, Georgia now has 16 commitments for the 2015 class.
