DONN RODENROTH/For The TELEGRAPH,Athens, Georgia, 10/03/2015: Georgia quarterback Greyson Lambert cuts loose with his first pass of the game under pressure from Alabama's Rueben Foster.

For its upcoming game against Tennessee, Georgia is sticking with Greyson Lambert.

Lambert is coming off a performance against Alabama in which he went 10-of-24 for 86 yards and an interception. Lambert was benched at the end of the first half as backup Brice Ramsey played five Georgia possessions in the game.

“Right now, it’s going to be Lambert,” Georgia head coach Mark Richt said.

Lambert entered Saturday’s game having gone 33-of-35 over his previous two games against South Carolina and Southern. Against Alabama in a 38-10 loss, Lambert had a rough day in rainy conditions. His first pass of the game was underthrown to receiver Malcolm Mitchell, who was wide open down the sideline.

After reviewing the film from the game, Richt said the passing game had a lot of issues that went beyond Lambert’s play on the field.

“We had a few things happen in the pass game,” Richt said. “We missed some receivers, dropped some balls. We had some balls batted down. We had a sack or two. I know one for sure was on a missed assignment. When you have a game where a quarterback hits 24 of 25 (against South Carolina), or whatever the heck it is, good things have to happen – protection, route-running, ball-catching and accurate throws.

“We had some protection issues, we had some drop issues, we had some accuracy issues. It wasn’t the best conditions to throw and catch for anybody. And Alabama caused a lot of those problems. We have to react better to those.”
