Jacob Eason has shoulder looked at in practice, Lorenzo Carter limited, three players still sidelined
Georgia freshman quarterback Jacob Eason didn't appear to be at full strength for Tuesday’s practice.
Eason received a rub-down on his right shoulder during the first few periods of practice and was having trouble with his accuracy on a couple of passes. At times, he was throwing short-to-intermediate passes with a staffer off to the side instead of rotating in drills with teammates Brice Ramsey and Greyson Lambert.
Eason's accuracy issues occurred on a couple of deep passes, which is when he then started throwing with a staffer on the side and not with much power.
Eason never left practice so it very well could be nothing of concern. Throughout the preseason, quarterbacks have been throwing a high volume of passes each day.
But it is worth noting that something did appear to be up during the limited portion of practice reporters were able to witness.
Georgia was once again without defensive tackle John Atkins, inside linebacker Natrez Patrick and defensive lineman DaQuan Hawkins-Muckle at Tuesday’s practice.
Atkins was spotted wearing a brace over his hyperextended left knee and riding a stationary bike. Patrick was working with a trainer and appears to have a leg injury. Hawkins-Muckle, who recently had Muckle added to his last name, was with his teammates but not participating much.
Lorenzo Carter also seemed limited, although he went through position drills that didn't involve contact. Carter's workload seemed limited during Saturday's open practice, considering he's expected to take on more responsibility as a starting outside linebacker this season.
