PBC coaches pick CSU to finish tied for fourth

The Columbus State women’s basketball team is tied for fourth with Georgia College in the Peach Belt Conference preseason coaches poll.

CSU has a new head coach, former assistant Jonathan Norton, and returns Phebe Smith,the reigning PBC Women’s Player of the Year, who led the league in scoring and rebounding last season.

For the second time in three years, Clayton State is the favorite, receiving seven of the 12 first-place votes. Defending PBC champions Francis Marion is second and Lander third. The rest of the order has South Carolina-Aiken, North Carolina-Pembroke, Armstrong Atlantic State, North Georgia, Georgia Southwestern, Montevallo, Augusta State and Flagler.
