KEY MOMENT
Morgan’s sack. With 1:07 remaining in regulation, Georgia Tech defensive end Derrick Morgan sacked Wake Forest quarterback Riley Skinner. Elusive for much of the game, Skinner could not get away from Morgan as the Demon Deacons tried to drive for a late score to upset the Yellow Jackets. Corralled at Georgia Tech’s 40, the sack forced Wake Forest to punt. On the ensuing Georgia Tech drive, the Yellow Jackets held on to the ball to force overtime.
KEY DECISION
Gutsy fourth down. The Yellow Jackets had the ball at the Wake Forest 5 and faced a tough choice with fourth-and-inches. Head coach Paul Johnson decided to go all in and attempt a fourth-down conversion. After watching the team go 0-for-4 on fourth-downs during regulation, he left his kicker on the sideline and called on Nesbitt for a quarterback dive up the middle. The play was successful and led to Nesbitt’s 3-yard touchdown run moments later.
