Smiths Station’s Adam Fossett said he was asked to resign from his position as Panthers head football coach on Wednesday.

Fossett spent two seasons as Panthers head coach, going 2-18 during that time. Smiths Station posted a 0-10 record in 2017 and was outscored 24-291 in the process.

Prior to coming to Smiths Station before the 2016 season, Fossett had been the head coach at Childersburg and Winterboro. He spent eight years between those two stops, going 53-36 and making six playoff appearances.

Fossett’s replacement will be the third Smiths Station head coach in four years.
