The Lee County Red Cross is sponsoring the Lee County Alabama American Red Cross Disaster Training Institute May 6-9 in Opelika, Ala. The institute, held in the Health Sciences Building of Southern Union State Community College on 1701 Lafayette Parkway, will teach those attending the classes the various aspects of handling disasters. The training will be provided by experienced disaster instructors from through out the region.
The classe will cover a broad spectrum of topics. The levels of instruction range from basic entry level to intermediate courses for beginning and experienced disaster specialists. The classes are free but a small fee will be charged to cover lunch and refreshments. Some classes have prerequisites for enrollment.
