AUBURN, Ala. - The portion of West Glenn Avenue from Donahue Drive to Hemlock Drive in Auburn will be again Wednesday as part of utility work by Alabama Power Co.
Power company crews are relocating power poles and transmission lines on that portion of West Glenn, forcing its closure between 9:30 a.m. CDT and 5:30 p.m. The work will occur after the morning rush to assist traffic.
city of Auburn received notice from Alabama Power Company that the portion of West Glenn will be closed beginning at 9 a.m. CDT while Alabama Power Company crews relocate power poles and transmission lines. It was originally scheduled for Monday but was cancelled due to inclement weather.
This work is associated with the Alabama 14 realignment, which includes widening Donahue Drive from Glenn Avenue to Bragg Avenue and re-routing Martin Luther King Jr Drive to align with Bragg Avenue. Improvements will also be made at the intersection of Glenn Avenue and Donahue Drive to add protected left turn movements.
