AUBURN, Ala. - Another in a series of road closures during utility work is in effect in the city of Auburn, this time on a portion of Harper Avenue.
The street is closed today between Summerhill and Dean roads, beginning at 5:30 a.m. CDT and ending at 5 p.m. CDT, as Alabama Power crews relocate power poles as the city prepares for the Dean Road-Harper Avenue Intersection Improvement Project.
The Dean Road-Harper Avenue Intersection Project consists of adding a center left turn lane at the intersection. Improvements will also be made to better align the road at the intersection and allow for a wider turn radius. In addition, Dean Road will be resurfaced from Glenn Avenue to Opelika Road.
Citizens are encouraged to visit the city of Auburn's website at www.auburnalabama.org to view the latest news on street closings so they may adjust their routes accordingly.
