SPENCER WINS TOURNEY AT NORTHSIDE
Spencer won The Rumble at The Rock Wrestling Dual Tournament at Northside, going undefeated through five rounds.
The Greenwave beat Upson-Lee 62-15 in the first round, Swainsboro 54-26 in the second, Carver 60-21 in the third, Northside 60-16 in the semifinals and Hardaway 48-21 in the final.
The following Spencer wrestlers went 5-0 in the tournament: Quintni Noel (112 pounds), all by pin; Derick Crosby (130); Dekelane Hill (135) all by pin; Darren Sampson (140); Hakim Rahming (171).
BLUE DEVILS 7TH AT AUBURN TOURNEY
AUBURN, Ala. -- Tim Reynold was the runner-up in the 130-pound weight class, the best individual performance for the seventh-place Columbus Blue Devils at the Swede Umbach tournament Saturday.
Five other Blue Devils placed: Miguel Parrado third at 103; 140 Shakur Peynado third at 140; Mhye Brown fourth at 152; Namu Keys third at 171; and Jamie Starke third at heavyweight.
Tallassee won the tournament, and Prattville was second.

BLUE DEVILS THIRD
Carrollton, Ga. -- The Columbus High boys swim team finished in the 27-team field in the Holiday Invitational.
Leading the way for the Blue Devil boys was Min-kwon Lee with a third-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke,, while Charlie Flowers was fourth in the 200 free and fifth in the 100 free.
Ben Fuller added a fourth in the 100 butterfly, and JD Rousseau was fourth in the 500 free.
The 400-yard freestyle relay team took third with a state qualifying time of 3:44.38.
Columbus girls swimmer Rio Watson won the 200-yard individual medley and qualified for the state meet. She also finished fourth in the 100 butterfly.
Megan Cass took first in the 100 breaststroke and was third in the 100 free.
The Lady Blue Devils finished in 6th place as a team.
Hardaway’s Hadiye Clinkscales finished second in the 100 free and sixth in the 50 free.
