Northside offensive tackleBrandon Baker
became the 11th Bi-City football player to sign with an SIAC school this week on Thursday when he signed a letter of intent to play for Fort Valley State during a ceremony at Northside.
Baker (6-foot-5, 285 pounds) graded out at 82 percent with 24 pancake blocks while allowing one sack in 2010 to earn honorable mention Ledger-Enquirer All-Bi-City honors in December. He plans to double major in business and engineering and said his time at Northside set him up to perform well at Fort Valley State.
“It taught me good morals, helped me strive for excellence, taught me to never give up and to always go for my goals,” Baker said. “It taught me to go and leave it all out on the field.”
