Carver High sophomore Jawon Pass picked up his first scholarship offer before even starting a game for the Tigers.
The 6-foot-4, 200-pound quarterback received an offer from the University of North Carolina on Tuesday, according to coach Joe Kegler.
Pass, who got limited opportunities as a freshman backup, is expected to take over the starting role vacated by Torrance McGee, who transferred to North Cobb High, in the fall.
Both Kegler and former coach Dell McGee have praised Pass' potential and said that they expect him to receive plenty of attention from Division-I schools.
Pass' brother, Khane, is a defensive back for the Tigers and has also received attention from Division-I schools, according to Kegler.
Carver is in its last week of spring practice and will play its spring game on Friday.
