CAMP HILL, Ala. -- Lawson Humphries ran for three touchdowns in the first half as the Glenwood offense took command early and defeated Lyman Ward Thursday night 48-12 in an AISA Class AAA Region 1 game.
Humphries scored on runs of 7, 25, and 3 yards as Glenwood grabbed a 21-0 first-quarter lead and never looked back.
Undriel Copeland scored two running touchdowns of 32 and 2 yards and Humphries favorite receiver Dylan Denny also scored on an 80-yard pass play in the first period to pace the offense.
With Humphries two touchdowns in the second period, Glenwood enjoyed a 41-6 halftime lead and assured the second half would be played with a running clock.

Chad Dykes got his first touchdown for the Gators for 2013 as he scored Glenwood's only second half score on a 5-yard run.
Pacing the Rangers on offense was halfback Dimitri Westfall, who scored on a 58 yard run in the first period from the Wildcat formation and set up Lyman Ward's second score with a run to set up a first and goal. He finished with 79 yards rushing and caught two passes for 25 yards as well.
Glenwood will return home to host Macon-East next Thursday.
