BAINBRIDGE, Ga. —Taquon Marshall ran in a 2-point conversion with just 44 seconds left in the game to lift Harris County over Bainbridge 31-30 on Friday night.
Marshall hit Tae Crowder for a 14-yard touchdown pass moments earlier to pull the Tigers (5-1, 1-0 Region 1-AAAAA) within one point, 30-29.
It was the fourth time in the game that Harris County had rallied from a deficit.
Bainbridge built a 9-0 lead in the first quarter before Marshall scored on a 2-yard run and Issac Grimes added the PAT. The Tigers got their own safety when the Bainbridge quarterback had to fall on a bad snap in the end zone.
The Bearcats took a 16-9 lead in the second quarter. The Tigers' Esaisas Chapman scored from 2 yards out with 1:45 left in the second. Grimes tied the game heading into intermission.
After Bainridge had taken a 23-16 lead, Chapman scored again, this time from a yard out with 2:18 left in the third. Grimes again tied the game.
Aaron Calloway scored his second touchdown for the Bearcats for a 30-23 lead early in the final quarter.
Chapman was limited to 67 yards on 21 carries.
Marshall completed 15-of-21 passes for 144 yards.
