Central High football coach Jamey DuBose said on Saturday that he has spoken with former Columbus High baseball coach Bobby Howard about joining his staff as a strength and conditioning coach.
Despite their conversations, nothing is official yet according to the coach.
"Nothing official to report yet," he wrote in a text to the Ledger-Enquirer. "I've spoken with him but nothing I can say at this time."
A call to Howard was not immediately returned.
Never miss a local story.
Howard, 64, coached the Blue Devils to a 3-0 start this season before abruptly announcing his resignation. He cited an inability to give the job what it required at the time.
He led Columbus for 31 years, amassing 819 wins and 12 state championships during that span.
