BALL GROUND, Ga. — Former Columbus High golfer Jimmy Beck shot a 65 in the second round of U.S. Open sectional qualifying Monday, but it was not enough.
Beck shot an even-par 72 in the first round Monday and finished at 7-under 137, which left him a tie for 11th.
Only the top three advanced to next week’s U.S. Open at Chambers Bay in University Place, Wash. The cut came at 12-under.
Beck made his pro debut last month on the eGolf Tour.
