The Lions are guaranteed a home playoff game, but with the Lafayette Wildcatters' 48-46 defeat of the first-place Albany Panthers on Saturday night, the door is still open for Columbus to finish atop the SIFL and claim home-field advantage through the postseason.
Columbus, which defeated the Greenville Force 99-0 on Friday, will have to win Saturday at the Louisiana Swashbucklers and then a week later at home against the Panthers while Albany must lose next week against Greenville and, of course, the next week in Columbus.
The odds of Albany falling to Greenville seem pretty slim, but Greenville will be home and are probably going to be looking for anything after getting trounced by nearly 100 points this week.
Any questions I should ask the Lions coaches or players this week? Is there anyone on the team or staff you'd like to read more in-depth about? Lemme know.
