Harris County defensive linemanJordan Jenkins
is already getting booked up for next January.
Last week the 6-foot-3, 230-pound junior received an invitation to play in the 2012 U.S. Army All-American Bowl and was notified today that he would be receiving an official invitation to play in the 2012 Under Armour All-America Game, according to his father, Ronald Jenkins.
Both of the national all-star games invite the top seniors from around the country to compete against one another. Carver running back Isaiah Crowell and defensive lineman Gabe Wright were invited to both games last year and chose to play in the Under Armour Game, which was hosted at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla., in January. The U.S. Army All-American Bowl is played at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, each January.
Jenkins will only play in one of the games and is leaning about "85 percent" toward choosing the Under Armour game, according to his father.
Jenkins is rated a 4-star player by recruiting site rivals.com and is considered by some recruiting experts as the the state's No. 1 prospect for the 2011-12 season. He has scholarship offers from a long list of colleges including Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, South Carolina, South Florida, Tennessee, Central Florida and Vanderbilt.
