Former Shaw softball playerMisha Aldridge
had a standout weekend at the NFCA Junior College Leadoff Classic in Panama City Beach, Fla., earning the tournament's Most Valuable Pitcher honors and leading Chattanooga State Community College to a runner-up finish.
Aldridge was 3-0 at the tournament with 17 strikeouts through the weekened. Chattanooga State reached the gold bracket's final against Blinn College, which won 3-2 to capture the title and finish 6-0.
Aldridge's teammaes Michelle Dowling and Brittany Cooley were also named to the all-tournament team.
If Chattanooga State sounds familiar, it's because Columbus volleyball player Kristen Qualls signed with the school last month.
