Smith, who Panthers cross country coach Ron Peters described as a “fiery speed demon,” said she expects to compete in the 100-meter, 200-meter and possibly the 4x100 relay at Columbus State. Usher, who was one of Smiths Station’s most versatile track and field athletes, said she expects to compete in the mid-distance races and in the jumps as well as run cross country. Columbus State's track and cross country teams compete as NCAA Division II programs in the Peach Belt Conference.
Kidd will run cross country at Mars Hill, an NCAA Division II school in Mars Hill, N.C., that competes in the South Atlantic Conference.
“All of these girls put in a lot of hard work here,” Peters said. “I had the opportunity to work with all of them, and they were all very dedicated.
