Columbus Lions defeat Central Florida 90-42
The Columbus Lions improved to 2-0 with a 90-42 victory over Central Florida at Lakeland, Fla., on Saturday night.
Michael Reeve had five touchdown catches to lead the Lions.
The Lions will have a bye week before returning to host the Atlanta Vultures on April 9 at 7 p.m.
Arkansas defeats Auburn 3-1
Arkansas scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to beat Auburn 3-1 on Sunday afternoon at Fayetteville, Ark.
The win gave the Razorbacks a sweep of the three-game series.
Auburn scored one run despite collecting 10 hits. The Tigers left 12 runners on base.
Anfernee Grier (Russell County) went 4-for-5 for Auburn.
The Tigers’ lone run came in the third inning on a home run by Jackson Burgreen.
Auburn starter Cole Lipscomb gave up one run in 6-plus innings. He allowed three hits and a walk while striking out eight.
In Saturday’s late game, Arkansas beat Auburn 14-7.
Grier went 1-for-6. Joshua Palacios drove in four runs.
Auburn (11-13, 1-5 SEC) will play Alabama at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Capital City Classic at Montgomery’s Riverwalk Stadium.
Tennessee defeats Alabama 6-3 on Saturday
Chris Hall and Vincent Jackson drove in two runs apiece as Tennessee beat Alabama 6-3 late Saturday night.
Connor Short drove in two of Bama’s runs. Hunter Webb (Russell County) went 2-for-4 with a run scored.
Ray Castillo (Russell County) pitched two scoreless innings in relief.
Alabama (15-8, 4-2) will play Auburn at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Capital City Classic at Montgomery’s Riverwalk Stadium.
