ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. -- Parker Derby shot a 1-under 69 on Saturday in the Georgia Amateur Championship to move up to a tie for 11th.
The former Brookstone standout, who started the day tied for 13th, is tied with three others at 2-under 208 through three round at the Seaside course at Sea Island Golf Club.
Derby has rounds of 67, 72 and 69 going into today.
One of those he was tied with was former Brookstone teammate Robert Mize.
Mize, the defending champion in the state amateur, shot a 2-over 72 Saturday to drop into a tie for 17th at 1-over 211. Mize has rounds of 69, 70 and 72.
Everyone is still chasing Dru Love, the son of Davis Love III. Love, who is playing on his home course, shot a 69 and stands at 8-under 202.
He fell out of the lead briefly as he struggled on the front nine. But he is 11-under par on the back nine this week.
He leads a trio of golfers by three shots.
Columbus High's Stanton Schorr shot a 77 Saturday to slide into a tie for 62nd at 223.
