Fort Benning to host Armed Forces Rugby Championship

Fort Benning will host the Armed Forces Rugby Championship Nov. 8-14 on the rugby pitch on Stewart-Watson Field.

Teams will represent all five branches of the Armed Forces and are assembling from around the world. The public is invited to attend. Admission and parking are free.

Stewart-Watson Field is on Eckel Street, adjacent to the Smith Fitness Center and the Bowling Center. For more information, call the Public Affairs Office at 706-545-6674.

Nov. 10 – tournament play

10 to 11:30 a.m. – Navy vs. Air Force

11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Army vs. Marines

1 to 2:30 p.m. – Coast Guard vs. Navy

2:30 to 4 p.m. – Air Force vs. Army

4 to 5:30 p.m. – Marines vs. Coast Guard

Nov. 13 – rest day / practice sessions (to be scheduled) in the afternoon

Nov. 12 - tournament play

10 to 11:30 a.m. – Marines vs. Navy

11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Coast Guard vs. Air Force

1 to 2:30 p.m. – Navy vs. Army

2:30 to 4 p.m. – Air Force vs. Marines

4 to 5:30 p.m. – Army vs. Coast Guard

Nov. 13 - tournament play

10 to 11:30 a.m. – consolation match

noon to 1:30 p.m. – championship match

1:30 p.m. – award ceremony
