Cirque Italia, a traveling Italian Water Circus with 35,000-gallon water stage and artists from around the world, opened Thursday night in the Peachtree Mall parking lot near J.C.Penney’s and is premiering their newest show “Aqua.”

It’s easy to find. Just look for the swirling Blue and White tent on the J.C.Penney end of the mall.

The new show, dubbed “Aqua,” is performed by the circus’ gold unit and features an ultra-modern water curtain that envelops the artists as they perform inside. The water stages used by the Silver and Gold units hold a 35,000 gallon water tank. A water curtain controls the water and synchs it with sound and light, and the performers center their acts around. The circus says only three stages like this exist elsewhere, one in Las Vegas, another in Dubai, and Cirque Italia having the other.
