No crying will be allowed at Tyler Perry’s stage play

Tyler Perry’s play “Laugh To Keep From Crying” will be performed at the Columbus Civic Center at 7:30 p.m. tonight. The play delves into the struggles families face in the inner city. A neighborhood comes together to help answer questions about protecting children, dealing with job loss and knowing the difference between love and infatuation.

The cast includes:

Palmer Williams, Jr. (“Floyd” from Tyler Perry’s “House of Payne” and “The Marriage Counselor”). He plays a landlord who can’t help but get involved in the daily lives of his tenants. Cheryl “Pepsii” Riley (who played Wanda in “Madea Goes to Jail” and was featured on “Soul Train”) takes on the role of a single mom with two teenagers

D’atra Hicks, who played Jackie in “Madea’s Family Reunion.”

Chandra Currelley, who played Emma in “Madea’s Class Reunion” and Chandra in “Diary of a Mad Black Woman”

Also in the play are Tamar Davis, Stephanie Ferrett and Donnie Sykes. They all appeared in “The Marriage Counselor.”
