Survivor 2011 cast includes Krista Klumpp, former Auburn University cheerleader from Smiths Station

Krista Klumpp, a former Auburn University head cheerleader, will appear on the new season of "Survivor." The show premieres Wednesday, Feb. 16, on CBS.

Klumpp's grandfather, parents and older sister attended Auburn University, according to a 2006 Sports Illustrated profile. The profile lists her hometown as Smiths Station, Ala.

"Being elected head cheerleader at Auburn University is my personal claim to fame. I then became a second generation Auburn University head cheerleader," she says on the "Survivor" website.

The new season, "Survivor: Redemption Island," features a twist in which eliminated contestants won't be sent directly home.

Instead, a contestant lives alone after getting the boot. Then, that person squares off with the next eliminated contestant in a duel. If you win the duel, you'll face the next eliminated contestant. One person will survive long enough to reenter the game.

Two contestants -- former "Survivor" players -- have yet to be revealed. Rumors suggest Russell Hantz and "Boston Rob" Mariano will occupy those spots.
