This concert features two works by English composers, both written in the early part of the 20th century. American violinist Jennifer Frautschi brings her superlative technique and refined musical taste to the Elgar concerto. Vaughan Williams’ symphony is an evocation of London in the early 1900s including references to Big Ben and a chilly town square on a November afternoon.

"This Precious Stone, This England" is presented by Aflac, W.C. Bradley Company, Sunny 100, and Marriott Columbus with additional support in part by the Georgia Council for the Arts through appropriations of the General Assembly. The Council is a partner of the National Endowment for the Arts.
