Grammy Award winner and R&B artist to perform in concert at Columbus Civic Center

A Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter and an “R&B powerhouse” are set to play a show this fall at the Columbus Civic Center, according to a news release from the Columbus Consolidated Government.

Anthony Hamilton and Leela James are scheduled to perform their concert at the Columbus Civic Center on Nov. 14, starting at 8 p.m.

“Known for his signature blend of Southern soul, R&B, and heartfelt storytelling; Anthony Hamilton has captivated audiences worldwide with chart-topping hits including ‘Charlene,’ ‘The Point of It All,’ and ‘Best of Me,’”s the news release says.

Hamilton won his Grammy in 2008 for Best Traditional R&B Performance for “You’ve Got The Love I Need,” according to the Grammy website. The website says Hamilton has received 18 nominations.

James’ “commanding voice and soulful performances have made her one of the most respected artists in contemporary R&B,” the news release says.

The release says fan favorites of James’ work include “Fall for You” and “Complicated.”

The presale period for tickets will begin at 10 a.m. July 9 and last until 9 a.m. July 13. Tickets will go on sale to the public July 13, according to the news release.
