Interesting Experiences: Attending horse racing events annually, most notably the Kentucky Derby, and Breeders' Cup World Championships. "In 2014, I worked for NBC for their Kentucky Derby and Oaks coverage, which brought me up close and personal with that year's winner, California Chrome. Most recently, I witnessed this year's Triple Crown winner, American Pharaoh, win his final start in the Breeders' Cup Classic.

Favorite spot in Columbus: The RiverWalk.
Favorite artist within your medium: "George Stubbs ranks among the top. In his equine art, he focused most predominantly on anatomy, details, and he was a master of composition. He never limited himself to any one medium, always experimenting with new techniques."
What inspires you as an artist? "My equine art reflects my appreciation of the horse. My firsthand experiences from my journalism career foster my vision as an equine artist. The history of horse racing and beauty of the horses is what inspires my work."
