Prince is gone but his music still lives on.
Purple Masquerade will kick off the Uptown Columbus Friday Night Concert Series. The free show is at 7 p.m. outside on Broadway.
“It is a high energy Prince tribute band,” said Becca Zajac, Uptown vice president of community relations and marketing.
The band from Nashville, Tenn., features the sound and the look of the iconic performer who sold more than 150 million records. Purple Masquerade has played all over the country and in Canada.
They will play hits such as “Purple Rain,” “Delirious,” “Kiss,” “Do It All Night,” “Little Red Corvette,” “Erotic City” and “Let’s Go Crazy.”
Performing as Prince is El Cavitt, who worked as a stunt double for Prince in the film “Graffiti Bridge,” as well as a few Prince videos.
The concert is open to all ages.
People are asked to bring lawn chairs or blankets. Outside food and beverages are allowed; however, glass containers and outside alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
