Candlelight Christmas concerts bring holiday classics, unique scene to Columbus

Fans of Christmas music in Columbus will get a chance this year to hear classic songs in an unusual setting, surrounded by thousands of candles.

Fever’s Candlelight concerts are coming to Columbus this month, the group announced Monday. This will give locals a chance to hear songs such as “Silent Night,” “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” “Jingle Bells” and more. Selections from “The Nutcracker” also will be played.

“Candlelight is a series of original concerts created by Fever with the aim of democratizing access to classical music,” Fever said in a news release. “This innovative format offers a unique live music experience through a diverse range of programs that cater to all tastes, performed by local musicians in iconic venues, with both the space and performers illuminated by thousands of candles.”

The tour of concerts will have one performance in Columbus on Dec. 18 at University Hall. The show will take place at 6:30 p.m. Tickets can be found on feverup.com.
