This Christmas show wins our poll for best light display in the Chattahoochee Valley
Even as a late-entry to the Ledger-Enquirer’s favorite light display poll, Fort Mitchell’s Lights on Justice comes out the winner.
Competing against some of the best holiday lights in the area, the voters have elected their favorite holiday light show.
More about the winner
Seana Buckner has been doing synchronized light shows since 2018 with simple LED lights, but transitioned to pixels in 2023. Buckner builds all her own props and is constantly seeking to improve the display by adding new elements to “change things up a bit.”
Her only goal is to spread Christmas cheer. Buckner told the Ledger, “If I can brighten even one person’s day then I can count the day as a success.” Her favorite bits include the Santa head and the sing-a-long tree that plays Christmas favorites. Like this reporter, she is also particularly partial to the “ho ho ho” sign.
The process is laborious and time consuming and she describes the hobby as “often frustrating,” but to Buckner, seeing the smiles on the visitors’ faces makes it worth it.
