If you — or your dog — are a foodie, then this Columbus event is for y’all
If you’re a foodie with a dog, or have a dog who’s a foodie, then this weekend event offering unique treats might satisfy your dog’s taste buds.
The Barks & Blues Music Festival, May 31, from 3-10 p.m. at Woodruff Park in downtown Columbus, has vendors selling one-of-a-kind items, including treats for dogs.
“We’ve got several things we’re taking to that event this Saturday which we’re super excited about that benefits PAWS,” Tracy St. John of Three Dog Bakery in Columbus told the Ledger-Enquirer.
Tracy and her husband, Joey, franchise owners of Three Dog Bakery in Columbus, initially launched in February 2024 and hosted their official opening event in April of that year.
St. John said they will sell the Pawls-ner, a cookie that looks like a little beer mug, and introducing the Rough Riff, a guitar-shaped cookie.
“We bake a huge variety of treats, cold treats, room-temperature treats, here in-house,” she said, “We bake with only human-grade ingredients, and it’s just mainly what we would consider pastries for dogs but very healthy, very simple ingredients.”
She described the treats as natural, good, healthy treats dogs might not otherwise get to try.
They also will premiere Best Buds Brew, provided by a supplier. The craft brew for dogs is made from pasture-raised, beef-bone marrow. St. John said it’s “what we like to call our doggie beer.”
She said they also will have a variety of treats available daily at their store, 1106 Broadway in downtown Columbus.
Food trucks offer people food at the festival, which will have live music. Scheduled performers are Alli Walker, Blink 182 Tribute band: Blank 281, Midnight Satellite, Dixie Red and American Whiskey.
Entry Fee is $10 per person. Children 12 and under enter free. Tickets can be purchased here. Proceeds from the festival will help provide care, medical treatment, and shelter for homeless pets in the community.
