Uptown Columbus hosts new fall market, scarecrow decorating, food truck festival

A new seasonal market has started in Columbus.

Uptown Columbus partnered with Astilbe Acres to host a fall market, starting this week.

The market runs from Sept. 12 to Oct. 30 at the splash pad, 1000 Bay Ave., and will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays.

This is the first fall market for Uptown Columbus. Tracey Green, director of communications and marketing for Uptown, said visitors can expect everything autumn, including mums, pumpkins and a variety of seasonal arrangements

“It’s a cute little pumpkin patch where families can come take pictures, let the kids wander, and pick up all the fall decor they need for their porches and yards,” Green told the Ledger-Enquirer..

Green also expressed excitement about expanding offerings for the Columbus area.

“We always promote Uptown as a one-stop shop, where you can get anything and everything you need,” she said. “This market just adds to it. No other business in the district offers this kind of festive experience.”

Uptown Columbus’s other fall events

The fall market is only the beginning of Uptown Columbus’ fall programming.

Uptown will launch a community scarecrow fundraiser and decorating project. Businesses and individuals can purchase scarecrows to decorate Broadway’s tree wells, transforming downtown for the season. Installation begins next week. All decorations are scheduled to be in place by Sept. 19.

Uptown also is hosting a fall food truck festival Sept. 20 at the Chattahooche Promenade from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online in advance or in person at the event.

The organization posts their events on their Facebook and the event calendar on their website.
