Annual Book Sale

Gently used books and AV material at the Muscogee County Friends of Libraries Annual Book Sale. 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday for FOL Members only pre-sale (memberships may be purchased at the door); 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and Saturday for everyone and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday is the Brown Bag Sale (Buy a bag for $5 and fill it to the brim.) Prices range from 25 cents to $2. Cash, checks, and debit/credit cards accepted. Proceeds go to support library programming, activities, author events, volunteer services and more.

ZAPP in Concert

Back by popular demand, ZAPP in Concert at The Phenix City Amphitheater. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. and the concert begins at 8 p.m. Concessions will be sold, along with adult beverages. 508 Dillingham St. $10 per person. Kids 12 and under are free. Bring chairs or blankets. Characters and Cocktails

A book club for adults. Join library staff to discuss books written by (and about) interesting, funny and fascinating folks. “Scandals of Classic Hollywood” is this month’s book. 6-7:30 p.m. Sapo’s Mexican Cocina and Bar, 3033 Manchester Expressway. Sesame Street USO Experience

This annual show featuring Sesame Street friends assists in helping children find the silver linings in military moves and deployments. 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Saturday. Get your friends and family stretched out for this color blast event where you’ll get blasted with color while you run a 5K. 9 a.m. Columbus Civic Center, 400 Fourth St.

Chattahoochee Challenge

TriColumbusGA hosts the Chattahoochee Challenge Olympic Triathlon and Dualthon. 5:30 a.m. The swim is a two-loop, 500 meter, down river swim in depths no greater than 6 feet. Dual athletes start with a 2-mile run. The bike route is smooth and flat and the run route will take you along the Phenix City Riverwalk and into Columbus. $95-$125. Register at triocolumbusga.com

Battle of the Bands

Dog-Days Art
