Holistic Columbus Expo to offer ‘something for everyone’
It is all about learning to live healthy the natural way.
And the organizer of the Holistic Columbus Expo 2016 says those attending will have a lot of fun doing so.
The free event is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Columbus Convention & Trade Center.
“There is going to be something for everyone,” said Tammy Edwards, the event organizer. “People will be able to speak with the experts on so many health topics. They will all be in one place. Anyone interested in being healthier will not want to miss this opportunity.”
A retired teacher, the Columbus woman has wanted to organize such an event since attending a similar one in Boston in 2000.
“I just learned so much,” Edwards said.
She said there are people in this area with health problems and the expo can teach them how to eliminate them without depending on pharmaceutical medications.
“We will have 50 vendors,” Edwards said.
That includes medical doctors, chiropractors, massage therapists, aromatherapists, acupuncturists, osteopaths and food consultants.
Visitors will be able to get a mini massage, have a body scan, talk to organic farmers and learn about the healing powers of therapeutic essential oils.
There will also be a chance for a small fee to experience some cryotherapy that is a treatment for pain in joints.
Local beekeepers will be on hand to talk about honey and why it is good for you.
There will be experts to explain the benefits of running and biking and how to get started.
If you have some questions about yoga, this will be your chance to get answers.
Totally natural homemade skin products will be available for purchase.
Prizes to given away will include spa baskets, dinner gift cards, free bike rentals and free massages.
