16 choices. 4 rounds. 29,000 votes. Here’s the winner of the Ledger-Enquirer’s BBQ bracket.
Finger-licking flavor. Sweet and spicy sauces. Bold seasonings.
We’re in love with barbecue and thankfully, Columbus has plenty of options.
We wanted to find the best barbecue restaurant in the area, and we started with 16 spots in our first-ever Barbecue bracket.
And after all of the votes were counted, it’s The Emeralds Touch BBQ that reigned supreme.
The Emeralds Touch BBQ is a bright orange food truck decorated with the smiling face of pit master Prathan Powell. All of the barbecue is served with his homemade “Everything but Dessert BBQ Sauce.”
The Emeralds Touch BBQ finished round one, the round of 16, with a comfortable lead of 40% of the nearly 7,000 votes registered.
The food truck widened the gap in round two with 3,113 votes, 62% of the votes cast in the round of eight.
The barbecue gurus garnered twice the votes than its nearest competitor in round three and continued to shine in the final round.
Our polls are not meant to be scientific, but they are a lot of fun and you are sure to discover some great places to dine if you give these contenders a try.
The Ledger-Enquirer’s barbecue bracket featured 16 of the most popular barbecue sources in the Columbus area.
