Favorite Uptown Columbus eatery wins prestigious award and named ‘Uniquely Georgia’
One of Columbus’ favorite restaurants, The Animal Farm in Uptown Columbus, has been honored with the prestigious “Uniquely Georgia Restaurant” award at the Georgia Restaurant Association’s (GRA) Crystal of Excellence (GRACE) Awards.
The “Uniquely Georgia Restaurant” award recognizes restaurants that uniquely represent and showcase the best of Georgia’s culinary scene. It is peer-nominated and features establishments that use local ingredients, highlight Georgia-specific cuisine, and reflect an experience that is distinctively Georgian.
This accolade, announced at the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta, is further proof of the restaurant’s commitment to showcasing the best of Georgia’s local produce and cuisine. Known for its locally sourced food and innovative cocktails, The Animal Farm has become a staple in Uptown Columbus, and one of the highest rated brunch spots.
The award was accepted by owner, Hudson Terrell and his wife, but the true credit, as acknowledged by Terrell, goes to the incredible staff, loyal customers, and the local farmers and fishermen who make The Animal Farm’s menu so uniquely Georgian.
“We’re so honored to win this award,” said Terrell in a social media post. “It’s amazing and humbling to get to work with such amazing people and serve the best customers around, day in and day out. We only hope we get to do it for a long time!”
The Animal Farm’s dedication to providing farm-to-table cuisine is part of a larger culinary trend of fresher and healthier choices in dining.
The Animal Farm is Columbus’ second restaurant to be honored by the organization. Jamie Keating and Epic Restaurant won the Restauranter of the Year in 2023, further demonstrating the evolving culture of Downtown Columbus and beyond.
