Who has the best sweet tea in Columbus? Vote for your favorite
Here in Georgia, if you hear, “Who made this tea?” don’t drink it. It’s bad.
We want to know about great tea. In fact, we want you to vote on who has the best in town in the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer’s first ever Sweet Tea Showdown.
Whether you need a pinch of baking soda to fight the bitter, a little lemon squeeze for balance, or just some window-sill sunshine to get it just right, you know how you like it.
The Ledger does not take this lightly. How we make and consume tea is baked into us as babies, and it is a very serious matter. Reputations are in danger. Family traditions are being called into question. Smug self-satisfaction is on the line.
And while I have no doubt your mom makes the second best sweet tea in Columbus (second behind mine, of course), this very un-scientific poll will crown one establishment with the biggest honor a Southern restaurant can receive.
Who makes the best sweet tea in Columbus?
We compiled a nowhere-near-comprehensive list of local eateries around town that are known for their tasty tea., and now we need you to get to voting.
You have until June 9 at noon to vote on your top 3 favorites.
Voting is on-going for subscribers and you may vote as many times as you want to, so feel free to get out and about and sample the wares. Let your taste buds be the judge.
Once you’ve selected the top 3, we’ll have a little visit with the finalists and taste for ourselves, and you’re welcome to tag along via social media.
You can vote for the top spot and the winner will be announced the following week.
Let me know if I left out your favorite spot (or if you have the best sweet tea recipe, ever). Email me at srose@ledger-enquirer.com or find me on social media.
