Casting call! This Disney+ series is looking for extras in Macon. Here’s more.
If you’ve been waiting for your big break, you might have just stumbled upon it.
Well, sort of.
If being an extra on a Disney+ show counts as your big break, then you’re in the right place.
The Disney+ series called “Genius” will need several background actors for filming later this month.
The anthology series premiered on National Geographic and already has three seasons. In past seasons, the show has taken a closer look at some of the world’s greatest and brightest minds, such as Albert Einstein, Pablo Picasso and Aretha Franklin.
The fourth season of the series will be released on Disney+ and will showcase Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X.
Do you fit the part?
Central Casting, the casting company for “Genius,” will need extras to be protesters, onlookers, media/press and civil rights leaders for scenes depicting Selma and New York protests.
The background actors can be any race, gender and adult age with natural hair and clean shaven appearances; specifically, women up to dress size 8 and men up to chest measurements of 44.
All actors will be required to take a COVID test, but the cost will be reimbursed. Actors will also be paid $140 for 12 hours of work, but they will be paid more for any overtime hours worked.

However, all actors should be aware of the show’s subject material before committing to acting.
Central Casting issued the following warning to potential actors:
“Please be aware that GENIUS: MLK/X does depict difficult subject matter related to racial injustice and/or violence. This can include but is not limited to: segregation, police brutality, references to slavery, etc. If you are in any way uncomfortable with performing in such scenes, please decline the job offer with our full support and understanding.”
The company also noted that the scenes filmed in Macon depict upsetting material:
“Performers in these scenes may be exposed to simulated violence, up-close contact with other performers, and racially insensitive language including slurs.”
